Exploring Mediumship: A Grounded Introduction

Updated: Aug 7

Mediumship is the practice of attempting to communicate information believed to come from someone who has died. People explore it for spiritual, personal or educational reasons, but it should be approached with honesty and clear boundaries.

A medium may describe inner images, feelings, thoughts, memories or a sense of knowing. These experiences are subjective; meaningful evidence depends on specific information that a recipient can assess.

No medium can guarantee contact with a particular person or that every detail will be recognised. Mediumship is a spiritual practice rather than settled scientific proof of an afterlife.

Development should include practice, feedback, ethics and consideration of ordinary influences such as expectation and prior knowledge. Students should never be encouraged to force information or turn a “no” into a “yes.”

Readings must not replace grief counselling, healthcare, legal advice or mental-health support. Avoid anyone who uses fear, promises certainty or demands repeated payments.
