Beliefs about children after death are deeply personal. Religions and spiritual traditions offer different teachings, while mediumship describes attempts to receive information believed to come from someone who has died.
Belief Is Not Established Fact
Some people believe children continue to grow, learn or remain cared for in a spirit world. Others understand the afterlife differently or do not believe in one.
There is no scientifically established description of what happens after death. A medium should present spiritual ideas as belief or personal experience rather than certain fact.
Evidence in a Sitting
When a medium believes a child is communicating, identifying information may include personality, interests, relationships, memories or circumstances known to the family.
General statements about love or peace may offer comfort but are not strong evidence by themselves. The recipient must be free to say that information is not recognised.
No Guarantees or Blame
A particular child cannot be guaranteed to communicate. A lack of contact does not mean that the parent has grieved incorrectly, lacks belief or has “blocked” the child.
No medium should claim that a child is trapped, suffering or requires repeated paid sessions. Fear and guilt must never be used to influence a bereaved family.
Sensitive Language
Words matter. Families may have different preferences for talking about a child and their death. A responsible practitioner listens, avoids assumptions and does not tell parents how they should feel.
Support Beyond Mediumship
A sitting is not a replacement for qualified bereavement care. A GP, counsellor or specialist child-loss service can offer support appropriate to grief and wellbeing.

This subject deserves humility. Spiritual belief may provide personal comfort, while evidence, choice and compassionate support remain essential.
